Google Panda Update 3.9

On July 24th, 2012, Google announced via its official twitter account that a new algorithm update would take effect that night. On July 25th, Google Panda Update 3.9 was implemented just one month after Google Panda Update 3.8 had gone into effect.

  It is said that the update has had an effect on 1% of the total daily Google search results. This 1% difference will be just enough for some websites to notice a difference in their ranking.   Google’s updates are designed to eliminate poor and low quality content from Google’s search results. Because of this, Google rewards those websites that have high quality content and are well-designed, trustworthy and secure. These websites could, in fact, experience a boost in ranking.   It is important for websites to be familiar with Google’s guidelines for creating this kind of high quality content. For Google, it is all about quality; white hat SEO procedures that place an emphasis on content creation and honest link building.   From researching the subject, one can notice that the network buzz is about what happened but not about the details of what the update is measuring. We do know for a fact that Google constantly is changing and tweaking the way that the algorithm analyzes web content. Some of the key attributes for quality content have been presented on Google’s Web Master Central blog. Below are some of the key factors that in our opinion are considered to be major elements of the quality content model in Google’s algorithm:  
  • Trustworthy information written by experts
  • No duplicate content
  • Proper editing, spelling and styling
  • Small amount of ads throughout the text
  • Comprehensive content that is worth sharing
  • Content enriched with both text and media
  It is obvious that the trend is moving towards quality content and web pages that provide users with helpful information. Today, more than ever, the technology allows search engines to accurately analyze websites and to rate and rank them almost as if it had been done by an actual human. These changes are promoting and rewarding webmasters that take the time to think of the end user, rather than manipulating the algorithm.   We know for a fact that Panda 3.9 is not the last content-related algorithm update that Google will release; we are expecting many more content-related updates, with less link-related updates in the future.
