What is Schema for HTML?
The three Search Engine leaders (Google, Yahoo, and Bing) recently joined forces to form a common attribute for html elements in order to improve the efficiency of crawlers and, consequently, of quality results. Schema.org had previously been launched by the Big Three and is the standard common consortium for the three search engines. Schema.org provides a collection of schemas (html tags or microdata) that enable the spiders to understand the content to the full extent. In this case, Schema.org provides the standard schema recognized by Google, Yahoo, and Bing from the person to the product and from the business to the restaurant.
Why do we need to implement a Schema for HTML?
Topher Kohan, SEO Coordinator of CNN.com at Search Engine Round Table (September 15, 2011) stated, “Indexing is no longer an issue, but letting the spider know what your content is about is more important.“ Because they had seen a 22% jump in targeted visitors earlier using a similar standard, he also added that this alone will be the game changer. Now that this schema has been implemented, pages no longer need to be optimized individually for Google, Bing, and Yahoo. The most important benefit resulting from a schema is the page result format. The pages are displayed in rich snippets which ensure a good click-through ratio
The search result below displays the rating and price range which is a very useful factor to anyone searching for the restaurant. This is the beauty of integrating schemas at web pages.
As search engine spiders crawl the schema attributes, they know that the page is updated and up-to-date. This, in turn, improves the likelihood of a higher ranking in the search results. Consequently, schemas can implement schemas for web page elements for any site, old or new.
What do we do?
We can analyze your web pages and determine those elements where schemas have to be implemented. We will then make a thorough search using schema micro data.
